Guided Reading Core Texts

Over the summers, teachers from various grade levels met to prepare lesson plans for each core-guided reading book purchased for all elementary schools.  The Fountas and Pinnell Continuum guided the creation of the two day (phase 1 and 2) guided reading lessons.   These lessons contain prompts for each book, identifying the 1st 100 words for running record purposes, identifying vocabulary, language devices, literary elements, text structures, etc. for teachers. The lesson plans are placed inside the front cover of the guided reading book so that teachers will be able to pick the books up and have lessons ready to go.  Copies of the lessons are located on the J drive under Elementary/Literacy/guided reading by level.

A huge thanks to this team for helping save their collegues time and providing wonderful lessons for students!
